Most budget apps show you where your money went. Ideus Money App is being built to change what happens next. It draws on Japanese money habits such as kakeibo, the household ledger that asks you to stop and think about each expense, and on what psychology tells us about why we overspend. The result should feel more like a daily habit than a spreadsheet.
Sri Lankans who earn a steady income but still reach the end of the month wondering where it went, and anyone who wants to start saving with a method they can keep up.
Kakeibo is a Japanese household ledger method. You record spending by hand and ask yourself how much you have, how much you want to save, how much you spend and how you can improve. Ideus Money App is being designed around that habit of noticing.
